In 2001, Medix received certification from Ford Special Vehicle Engineering QVM Program to perform modifications to the Ford SuperDuty Cargo Van and has been re-certified every year since. The QVM Certification is the hallmark of a responsible ambulance manufacturer.
The Medix Ford Silverhawk is built on a E-350 XL (6.0 Diesel Engine or Gas) Cargo Van while the Chevrolet is built on a Express G-3500 (6.6 L Duramax Diesel engine) They both come with the Ambulance Prep Package. The Silverhawk is focused on safety, offering an emergency lighting package that includes a Light-Bar for increased visibility as a standard feature. Other features that come standard on our Type II are handcrafted wood cabinetry, formed seamless upholstery, a full roll cage, high back technician seat and pre-wiring for an inverter.
The newest addition to the Medix Silverhawk line up is the Freightliner Sprinter 2500. In 2001, Medix received approval from Sprinter Engineering to perform modifications to the Sprinter Cargo Van. It boasts best-in-class for fuel mileage, best-in-class 73” of interior headroom, a safe and convenient slide in/out O2 storage, standard LED exterior lighting package and easy access to the inverter and air conditioning unit. **It is also now available with a new low-emission diesel engine.
